I recorded the scenes with fraps back then, compressed the clips and sent them to inkognito who did the cutting work and compressed the whole vid again - a miracle that the quality didn't get totally lost

I agree on sponge's opinion, not a bad first try at all! 
in the 1024 x 768 version I noticed a minor bug in the helmet, there's an invisible part for a very short time (around 1:33). it doesn't really bother me but it might be something that you yourself would like to avoid next time, that's why I mentioned it

the video editing software I use (avidemux) was updated and after those bugfixes adding filters works way better than before.
so I played around and added some filters here and there. nothing too special, I did not change the actual footage - but some of you might want to give it a try anyway (..or haven't seen the video yet)

no seriously, I don't mind if someone uses a song I already used. I've spotted several videos in which "requiem for a dream" is played lately, but that's okay since I am not the owner of those songs. maybe it has even been used before my Impressions-video and I only did not know about it, who knows
I totally agree on that, and that also makes me know that not everybody has to love my videos. I'm not too skilled using the software, I (mostly) just want to share the good racing I had or in this case I wanted to make an into.
well don't take my drifter-comment too serious, it's just your video(s?) I saw were about drifting and on my last vid you commented "solid 8/10 from me since Im not racer, if I was - 9/10" which made me think you're a drifter.
put an "in my opinion..." in front and I'd be perfectly fine, that was my second point... let's not start a war about drifting, racing or bad videos now since that would be OT and not what I wanted to score.

you have to set message block to 2 if you wanna block every kind of message if I'm not mistaken.. but ye in the latest Y you can block em just in-game (I think it was by pressing shift+f a second time after clearing the screen by pressing it once already)

eye candy is missing because I don't use software like premiere or vegas... but yea some effects might improve it
the lack of skins is there because all the scenes were recorded on demo servers (believe it or not
) .. and concerning the purple rims, we have to blame N I K I I suppose .. and thx for the comments

I know it's hard (for those who don't own a high-end-pc) to get a proper amount of fps while recording at 1x speed because of the game-sound.. and the only other thing which gives me room for criticism is the 4:3 screen, since I myself use a 16:10 screen - the black bars on both sides look odd in this case

I especially like the position list and stuff which make it look like a cut of real TV broadcasting, and then the music just matches
One minor suggestion by me is to set MPR Message Block 2 in the config file - the messages didn't really disturb me much while watching, but it's so easy to avoid them

I think the framerate is _okay_, I mean, your video is not a slide show and I think most people don't care! but there's one more possible reason which may cause lower fps than you want: if you record with fraps, like I do, you might try setting lfs to 16bit ... for me it makes a big difference, though I got no idea why fraps doesn't like 32 bit

Both in singleplayer- and in multiplayer-mode you can save the replay by pressing the button "2". You find the replays in the main menu -> replays. Then while watching you can switch the view by pressing V or switch to other cars by pressing tab. And if you want to record videoclips from your replays, this tutorial may be helpfull!

I myself prefer lfs videos with engine and tyre sounds, think they're more exciting.. doesn't really work that way for slomos of course
but I think in some parts the engine sounds are too loud compared to the music. because of the different fields of view that I used, the engine sounds are different loud. I tried to fix that with setting it all to the same volume, didn't work for every part of the video
ah and I updated my first post, now uploaded a version with some simple effects and blur, the file size is only 59.9MB but the quality hasn't changed for the worse imo..

Choose hotlapping mode or any other singleplayer mode, press escape -> options -> view -> custom ... that's the menu with which you can play around - set "Draw: Body" so you see the car, then mainly change the X-, Y- and Z-Offset, Pitch and Rotate View.. then in your replays you can switch to this individual custom view with pressing V
2. Try upkey and downkey (the arrow keys)... another option is changing the field of view by pressing the key 5 or 6 .. that's not a real zoom but it looks like and may lead to nice effects (but also to odd views sometimes, especially if the FOV is >100°, so be careful )

yea maybe it was used in an LFS video before, but then I missed that one
I think here in germany they used the song in DTM broadcasting for a short while, but not 100% sure about that. and probably you didn't watch DTM on german channels

xDuhm no - those replays were just from patch W and X (that's why it is the old blackwood). there the speedo had that amount of numbers, it was changed lately, during the many test patches on the way to patch Y
